Lois Haney

Lois Lee Haney, 90, of Industry died at 10:33 p.m. Nov. 28, 2010, at Elms Nursing Home in Macomb.

She was born June 5, 1920, in Adair, a daughter of Pius and Laura Lauderback Wherley. She married Ray V. Haney on Jan. 6, 1940, in Palmyra, Mo. He preceded her in death.

She also was preceded in death by five brothers, Pius “Wendell”, Richard, Harold “Babe”, Jim and infant brother Daniel; and one sister, Ann Coven.

Surviving are one daughter, Janet Rae (and John) Brierton of Billings, Mont.; two sisters, Wanda (and Duane) Himmel and Peggy (and Pat) Ross; one brother, Don Wherley; six grandchildren; three step grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.

She and her husband eventually settled on the Haney family homestead in Industry where they farmed for 40 years until retirement.

She was a member of Industry United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She volunteered at the church.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Industry United Methodist Church with Reverend Robert Greene officiating. Burial will be in Industry Cemetery. Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Industry United Methodist Church or Industry Fire and Rescue.
