Orville V. Trone, 91, of Astoria died at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2001, at Astoria Manor.
He was born May 17, 1909, in Kerton Township, Fulton County, the son of Jacob and Dora Seymore Trone. He married Fern Thomas on April 6, 1935, in Lewistown. She survives.
Also surviving are seven daughters, Rosemary Williams of Canton, Dorothy (and Lee) Plate, Jeanette (and Harold) Hopkins, Opalene (and Virgil) Stambaugh and Ida (and David) Clark, all of Astoria, June (and David) Hicke of Glasford and Ruth (and Stephen) Trone of Browning; two sons, Tom (and Pam) and Stephen, both of Astoria; 27 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.
He was a farmer and an avid gardener.
He was a member of Astoria Church of Christ.
Services were held Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone officiating. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery.
