Fern Trone, 96, of Astoria died at 9:40 a.m. July 25, 2015, at St. Johns Hospital in Springfield.
She was born Jan. 13, 1919, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, a daughter of Earl and Ruth Burgard Thomas. She married Orville Trone on April 6, 1935, in Lewistown. He preceded her in death on May 7, 2001.
She also was preceded in death by two daughters, Ruth Trone and Dorothy Plate.
Surviving are five daughters, Rosemary Williams of Canton, Jeanette (and Eddie) Hopkins, Opalene (and Virgil) Stambaugh, Ida (and Dave) Clark, all of Astoria, and June (and David) Hicke of Glasford; two sons, Tom (and Pam) Trone and Stephen Trone, both of Astoria; 26 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
She was a housewife.
She was a member of Astoria Christian Church.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Gary Sheets officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Astoria.
