Mildred Still

Mildred E. Still, 76, of Astoria died at 11:20 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2003, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

She was born April 15, 1927, in Hancock County, a daughter of Loren W. and Mary Carnes Smith. She married Clifford W. Still on Dec. 31, 1994, in Havana. He survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Haskell Stanley (and Pam) Simpson of Mountain Home, Ark., and Rodney (and Ruth) Simpson and James (and Gay) Simpson, both of Astoria; two stepsons, Roger (and Vicki) Still of Berwick and Rex (and Nancy) Still of Adair; one sister, Arlene (and Ray) Willis of Glendive, Mont.; four brothers, Jim (and Ruth) Smith of Laurie, Mo., Bill (and Clara) Smith of Chillicothe, Sam (and Ella Mae) Smith of Bushnell and Orville Dan (and Juanita) Smith of Ocala, Fla.; five grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, George Smith and Locie Smith; and two sisters, Betty Morrill and Mary Robertson.

She worked for Dana Corp. in Jonesboro, Ark., and Havana.

Services were held Tuesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Gary Schultz officiating. Burial was in Vermont Cemetery.
