Clifford Still

Clifford StillClifford W. Still, 86, of Astoria died at 4:37 a.m. March 14, 2011, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born May 28, 1924, in Greenbush Township, Warren County, a son of Harry and Rita Brown Still. He married Esther Thompson on July 28, 1945, in McDonough County. She preceded him in death on Dec. 8, 1993. He then married Mildred Simpson on Dec. 31, 1994, in Havana. She preceded him in death on May 8, 2003.

He also was preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce Ann Still; one sister, Selda Still; and three brothers, Harold, Don and Ken Still.

Surviving are two sons, Roger (and Vicki) Still of Berwick and Rex (and Nancy) Still of Adair; three stepsons, Rodney (and Ruth) Simpson of Astoria, Jim (and Gay) Simpson of Bath and Stanley (and Pam) Simpson of Mountain Home, Ark.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five step grandchildren; and six step great-grandchildren.

He worked at Norcross in Bushnell for 18 years. He also was a truck driver for Skelco Gas Company in Bushnell for 13 years.

He was a member of Southern Baptist Church in Havana, Odd Fellows Lodge in Bushnell and attended Berean Christian Church in Ipava.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Berean Christian Church in Ipava with Pastor Doug Krukewitt officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. Inurnment will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Astoria Rescue Squad or Bushnell Rescue Squad.
