Mrs. Mary Skiles Of Astoria Dies

Mrs. Mary Skiles, 80, of Astoria died at 1:02 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 1980, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

Born May 1, 1899 in Browning, a daughter of Morton and Vada Geiman Kolp, she married Charlie A. Skiles Feb. 23, 1915, in Rushville. He died Apr. 1, 1975.

She was a member of the Browning Assembly of God Church.

Surviving are three sons, Edward of Industry, Charles E. and Orrin, both of Astoria; five daughters, Mrs. Edith West of McCall, Idaho, Mrs. Edna Fisk of Astoria, Mrs. Mary Haney of Industry, Mrs. Alice Kiel of Aurora and Mrs. Aloise Beaird of Rushville; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Geiman Kolp of Browning.

She was preceded in death by one infant son, three grandchildren and two sisters.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Tom Spain officiating. Burial was in the Astoria Cemetery.
