Geiman Kolp Dies At Age 78

Geiman Kolp, 78, a retired farmer of rural Browning, died at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, 1983, in Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born Jan. 24, 1905, in Browning, the son of Martin and Navada “Vada” (Geiman) Kolp. He married Margaret Bader on Dec. 24, 1930, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Linda McClure of Beardstown and Mrs. Judy Leavitt of Decatur, and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two infant sons and three sisters.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. James Shirley officiating. Burial was in the Bader Cemetery.
