Albert Schisler Dies Early Monday

Albert “Bert” Schisler, lifetime resident of the Astoria area, passed away Monday morning, Jan. 13, about 5:30 a.m. following a brief illness. He was aged 66 years, 7 months and 12 days.

Mr. Schisler was born May 23, 1897, in Vermont township, a son of Edward and Josephine Branchfield Schisler. On Sept. 26, 1918, he was married at Lewistown to Addie Mae Stambaugh, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. John (Dorothy A.) Bucy of Astoria, and Mrs. Donald (Myrna J.) Danner of Table Grove; three grandchildren, Steven A. Bucy, Astoria, Garry D. and Gill L. Danner, Table Grove; one sister, Mrs. Lucy Hayes, Vermont; two brothers, Evert Schisler and Carl Schisler, both of Astoria. One daughter, Marie Evelyn, preceded him in death.

Mr. Schisler was an employee of Cooper Motor Co. in Astoria for over twenty years. He was presently employed by Harry Danner and sons of Table Grove.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. In the EUB Church. Rev. H. L. Leu and Rev. Earl Stambaugh officiated. Burial was in the Astoria cemetery. Pallbearers, all nephews, were Phillip Schisler, Clair Schisler, Charles Hayes, Carl Hayes, Wayne Stambaugh and William Stambaugh.
