Evert Schisler, 78, of rural Astoria was dead on arrival at the Culbertson Memorial Hospital, Rushville, at 8:55 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 1980.
He was born May 5, 1902, near Astoria, a son of Edward and Josephine (Branchfield) Schisler. He married Opal Curless on Aug. 15, 1925, in Lewistown.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Phillip of Rushville; one daughter, Mrs. Jim (Susie) Bucher of Macomb; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Carl Schisler of Astoria; and one sister, Mrs. Lucy Hayes of Vermont.
One son, one infant daughter and one brother preceded him in death.
Mr. Schisler was a retired farmer.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone officiating. Burial was in the Astoria Cemetery.
