Carl Schisler, 81, Dies In Hospital

Carl Schisler, 81, of Astoria, died at 3:40 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, 1981, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born April 16, 1899, at Astoria, the son of Edward and Josephine Branchfield Schisler. He married Fern Beaty Sept. 5, 1925, in Macomb. She survives.

Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Melba Collins of Frederick, Mrs. Bessie Pempek of Springfield, Mrs. Nelda Parker of Astoria and Mrs. Carolyn Holloway of Chillicothe; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Lucy Hayes of Vermont.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Albert and Evert; and one infant grandchild.

Mr. Schisler was a retired farmer.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Phillip Collins, Gregory Parker, Geffrey Parker, Gerry Parker, Craig Holloway and Byron Pempek, grandsons. Mrs. Connie Lockard served as organist. Burial was in the Astoria Cemetery.
