Dorothy Bucy

Dorothy "Dot" BucyDorothy A. "Dot" Bucy, 63, of Astoria died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at 5:37 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born Oct. 17, 1937, in Astoria, a daughter of Albert and Addie M. Stambaugh Schisler. She married John W. Bucy on Nov. 20, 1955, in Astoria. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Steve Bucy of Table Grove and Lance (and Lynn) Bucy of Astoria; four grandchildren, Ashley, Bradi, Amber and Mark Bucy; two step grandchildren, Mike Belden and Matt Posey; one step great-grandchild, Nicholas Belden; one niece, Gill (and Roger) Root of Rushville; one great-niece, Ginger Duncan; and one great-nephew, Donald Root.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Myrna Danner and Marie Schisler; and one daughter-in-law, Pam Bucy.

She was a member of the Astoria United Methodist Church.

She was a dental assistant for Dr. Howard Marx in Astoria. She then worked at the Farmers State Bank in Astoria, retiring in 1991.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone officiating. Visitation will be held tonight from 6-8 p.m. at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Burial will be in Astoria Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Astoria Rescue Squad.
