Mrs. Addie Schisler Dies Wednesday

Mrs. Addie Mae Schisler, lifetime resident of the Astoria area, passed away suddenly at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield at 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday evening, Dec. 21, 1966. She had entered the hospital on Tuesday, Dec. 20. Death was attributed to bronchial pneumonia. She was aged 66 years, 3 months and 11 days.

Mrs. Schisler was born Sept. 10, 1900, in Bader, Ill., a daughter of Alvin and Sarah Mildred Vista Campbell Stambaugh. On Sept. 26, 1918 she was married to Albert “Bert” Schisler, who preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 1964.

Surviving are two daughters: Mrs. John (Dorothy A.) Bucy of Astoria and Mrs. Donald (Myrna J.) Danner of Table Grove; four grandchildren: Steven Alan and John Lance Bucy of Astoria and Gary Donald and Gill Lynn Danner of Table Grove; one brother, Lloyd Stambaugh of Bader; and one half-brother, Ervin Stambaugh of Galesburg. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Marie Evelyn, and one infant sister.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, Dec. 24, at 2 p.m. in the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Astoria where she was a member. Rev. Russell Fry officiated. Burial was in the Astoria Cemetery. Mrs. Schisler’s mother was buried 59 years ago on the day before Christmas.

Pallbearers, all nephews, were Phillip and Clair Schisler, Astoria; Charles Hayes, Adair; Carl Hayes, Vermont; Wayne Stambaugh, Bader; and Ronald Stambaugh, Abingdon.
