Charles HayesCharles HayesCharles E. Hayes, 76, of Industry died at 12:45 p.m. March 16, 2009, at Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy.
He was born July 28, 1932, in Astoria Township, Fulton County, a son of Herbert and Lucy Schisler Hayes. He married Dorla Green on March 3, 1973, in Warsaw. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Carla (and Michael) Farniok, Tammy (and Dan) Caldwell and Sheila Sherbeyn, all of Industry; one brother, Carl Hayes of Vermont; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Chase Sherbeyn; and one sister, Josephine Workman.
He was a Army veteran of the Korean conflict.
He farmed and worked at Yetter Manufacturing in Colchester.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Bob Greene officiating. Visitation will he held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Vermont Cemetery.
