Herbert Hayes Dies Of Heart Attack

Herbert Hayes, son of Charles and Ethel Kimble Hayes was born April 9, 1907 near Vermont. He passed away June 20, at his farm home south west of Vermont from a heart attack. He had been a farmer all his life and lived in the Vermont and Astoria area his entire lifetime.

He was united in marriage to Lucy Schisler on June 20, 1931 at Lewistown, Ill.

Survivors besides his wife are two sons: Charles E. and Carl H. Hayes both of Adair; one daughter, E. Josephine Workman of Astoria; two grandchildren, Gary D. and Connie S. Workman of Astoria; two sisters, Eva Bollinger of Springfield and Iva Danner of Vermont; one brother Charles Hayes, Jr., of Table Grove.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be sadly missed by his loved ones. Our loss is his gain.

Once uncle, two aunts, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends are also left to mourn his passing.

Funeral services will be held at Kost Funeral Home in Vermont this afternoon at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Gift will officiate and burial will be in the Vermont Cemetery.
