Charles Hayes Jr., 89, of Macomb died at 11:50 p.m. Jan. 15, 2014, at his residence.
He was born May 21, 1924, in Vermont, a son of Charles Henry Sr. and Ethel Belle Kimble Hayes. He married Geraldine McFadden on June 6, 1948, in Vermont. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Ricky (and Kandi) Hayes of Table Grove and Randall (and Kami) Hayes of rural Macomb; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, William and Terry Hayes; one grandson in infancy, Gregory Hayes; two sisters, Eva Bollinger and Iva Danner; and one brother, Herbert Hayes.
He lived in the Vermont area most of his life before moving to Macomb in 1992. He farmed all of his life and drove a truck for Table Grove Elevator and Tingley Products in Ipava.
Services were held Saturday at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Reverend Rob Harrison officiating. Burial was in Vermont Cemetery.
