Jeffrey PoppenhagerJeffrey L. Poppenhager, 62, of Albion died Sept. 10, 2014, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

He was born Sept. 12, 1951, in Galesburg, a son of William Lyons (Judy) and Linda Easley. He married Cindy Hollenback on Sept. 6, 1980, in Astoria. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Jessa Poppenhager (Rich Howard) of Centreville, Va.; 10 sisters, Linda Easley, Carol Davis, Bobbi Jo Willey, Rosie Leto, Nancy Pressler, Patsy Miller, Julie Jennings, Jill Doiron, Jennifer Lyons and Shelley Saunders; five brothers, Phil Poppenhager, Steve Poppenhager, Jay Easley, Rich Easley and Kyle Easley; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Orlen and Vilda Poppenhager; one son, Jakob Dale; and one brother, Max Poppenhager.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Albion Masonic Lodge. He was a former IDOT employee and in highway maintenance.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Little Prairie Christian Church in Albion. Masonic Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. prior to Celebration of Life Service to be concluded by full Military Rites at the church. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. till service time at the church. Private burial services will be held at a later date. Ingram Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
