Carol Davis, 88, of East Galesburg died due to natural causes, Aug. 2, 2026, in Galesburg.
She married Harry Davis. They were married for 44 years before he died in 2004.
She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda and Rosmary; and two brothers, Max and Jeff.
Surviving are one daughter, Nancy (Dilraj) Sidhu of Milwaukee, Wis.; and five siblings, Barbara Jo, Nancy, Patsy, Phillip and Steven.
She moved to Galesburg from Astoria in the late 1950s to work as an insurance secretary. She held many administrative assistant positions during her working years, mostly for physicians.
She did not want any sort of memorial service and wanted to be cremated. Her wishes were to have her ashes, as well as Harry’s, sprinkled together in a lake, river or ocean, someplace where they could go fishing (or rather where Harry could go fishing and Carol could read).
In their honor and memories, donations may be made to the Galesburg Public Library Foundation, in memory of Carol and Harry Davis, 264 W. Main St. Galesburg, IL 61401 or online, https://thegplf.org.
Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory in Galesburg is in charge of arrangements.
Condolences may be sent to http://www.watsonthomas.com.
