Jakob Poppenhager

Jakob D. Poppenhager, 16, of Albion died at 10:10 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001, in Albion, due to an auto accident.

He was born Feb. 25, 1985, in Du Quion, the son of Jeff and Cindy Hollenback Poppenhager.

He is survived by his parents of Albion; one sister, Jessa Poppenhager of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale; paternal grandparents, Bill and Judy Lyons of New Athens and Dick and Linda Easley of Astoria; maternal grandparents, Margaret Hollenback of Rushville and Roy Hollenback of Table Grove.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Orlen Poppenhager.

He was a junior at the Edwards County Senior High School in Albion where he was a member of the Future Business Leaders of America, Letterman's Club, Art Club, and the Weight Lifting and Fellowship of Christian Athletes Club. He was on the Edwards County High School football team.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Albion.

Services were held Saturday at his high school. Burial was in the Graceland Cemetery in Albion. Ingram Funeral Home in Albion was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the 30 Second Time Clock Football Field at the Edwards County Senior High.
