MURIEL MARIE (WEESE) MARKLEY

Muriel Markley

Muriel Markley, 92, of Havana, died at 2:20 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 1996, at Mason District Hospital.

She was born April 26, 1903, in Fulton County, a daughter of Walter and Hattie Mae Deary Weese. She married Herman D. Markley in January 1927. He died Feb. 14, 1956. Two sisters and three brothers also preceded her in death.

Surviving are four daughters, Betty Little of Vermont, Rosalie Stephens of Havana, Phyllis Shepard of Monmouth and Geraldine DeJaynes of Peoria; three brothers, Clyde Weese of Astoria, Sheldon Weese of Lewistown and Carl Weese of Cuba; two sisters, Darlene Hood of Frederick and Ida Clanin of Astoria; 16 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Warren Hughes officiating. Burial was in Summum Cemetery in Summum.

Memorials may be made to the March of Dimes.
