Carl Weese

Carl D. Weese, 86, of Cuba, died at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

He was born Dec. 21, 1913, in Summum, a son of Walter and Hattie Derry Weese. He married Nedra Swank on June 11, 1965, in Cuba. She survives.

Also surviving are three stepsons, Dennis Swank and Bernard Swank, both of Cuba, and Joe Swank of Silvis; two stepdaughters, Vivian Winter of Katy, Texas, and Linda Mathews of Kissimmee, Fla.; one sister, Ida Clanin of Astoria; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Two daughters, five brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.

A member of the Quad Cities United Auto Workers, he worked at John Deere Inc. in East Moline for 23 years, retiring in 1976.

Services were held Friday at Henry Memorial Home in Cuba with Rev. Randy McGeehon officiating. Burial was in Cuba Cemetery.
