NEDRA L. (ATEN) SWANK WEESE

Nedra Weese

Nedra L. Weese, 81, of Canton, formerly of Cuba, died at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 2, 2006, at Heartland Healthcare Center in Canton.

She was born April 24, 1925, in Swan Creek, a daughter of Ray and Pearl Troutner Aten. She married William Frank Swank on Sept. 23, 1947, in Davenport, Iowa. He died Jan. 16, 1962. She later married Carl D. Weese on June 11, 1965, in Cuba. He died Jan 4, 2000.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Swank; two brothers; and one sister.

Surviving are two sons, Bernard (and Charlene) Swank of Cuba and Joseph Swank of Silvis; two daughters, Vivian Winter of Katy, Texas, and Linda (and James) Taylor of Kissimmee, Fla.; two brothers, Ralph Aten and Weldon Aten of Kansas City, Mo.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She had worked as a waitress at various restaurants. She was a member of the Cuba American Legion Auxiliary, and had bowled on various women's bowling leagues.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba with Rev. Amy Wharton officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Heartland Healthcare Center in Canton, Clayberg Nursing Home or Cuba American Legion Auxiliary.
