Betty L. Little, 95, of Bath, formerly of Vermont, died at 9:42 p.m. March 4, 2019, at home.Betty L. Little, 95, of Bath, formerly of Vermont, died at 9:42 p.m. March 4, 2019, at home.
She was born Nov. 8, 1923, in Smithfield, a daughter of Herman and Muriel Weese Markley. She married Cletus Little on Dec. 6, 1941, in Hannibal, Mo. He preceded her in death on Aug. 25, 2000.
She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Pottorf; three sons, Robert, Michael and David Little; and two sisters, Geraldine DeJaynes and Phyllis Shepard.
Surviving are one daughter, Patricia Little of Bath; one sister, Rosalie Stephens of Havana; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She had many different jobs, but her favorite was being a waitress. Her last waitressing job was working with Phyllis at Bernie’s Bar and Grill in Vermont until it closed, waitressing at 86 years of age.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Cody Stinnett officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Vermont Cemetery.
