Eva Hamm

Eva M. Hamm, 92, of Astoria died at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2006, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

She was born Oct. 6, 1913, in Browning Township, the daughter of Edward and Mary Lauderback Briney. She married Dallas E. Hamm on Jan. 23, 1933, in Rushville. He died April 18, 1996.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Larry; and three brothers, Eldon, Earl and Otis Briney.

Surviving are two sons, Robert (and Rita) of Marathon, Fla., and Richard (and Karen) of Chillicothe; one daughter, Phyllis (and Robert) McCombs of Astoria; two brothers, Ernest Briney of Hanna City and Oliver (and Garnet) Briney of Morton; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Astoria Christian Church.

Services were held Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home with Gary Sheets officiating. Burial was in Sheldons Grove Cemetery in Browning.

Memorials may be made to the Astoria Fire and Rescue Squad or the South Fulton Senior Citizens Center.
