Otis Leroy Briney, 77, of Adair, died at 2:40 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born March 27, 1922, in Crook, Colo., a son of Edward and Mary Lauderback Briney. He married Madolyn Sullivan on March 14, 1946, in Galesburg. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Steven (and Julie) of Coal City; one daughter, Jane (and Harold) Miller of rural Macomb; one sister, Eva Hamm of Astoria; two brothers, Earnest of Adair and Oliver of Morton; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Two brothers preceded him in death.

He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the European Theater as a telephone communication lineman technician. He received a Bronze Star.

He farmed and was a truck driver for 51 years. He was a Burrus Seed Corn dealer for 50 years.

He was a former member of the Pennington Point Church near Adair.

Services were Tuesday at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Rev. Michael Beblois officiating. Burial was in Pennington Point Cemetery near Adair.
