Mrs. Maye Hamm Dies In Hospital

Mrs. Maye L. Hamm, 93, of rural Astoria, died at 12:45 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 1988, at Mason District Hospital in Havana.

She was born Oct. 18, 1895, in Fulton County, a daughter of Edmond and Nora Fisher Curless. She married Petie C. Hamm May 30, 1913 in Rushville. He preceded her in death Aug. 8, 1971.

Surviving are six sons, Dallas Hamm of Astoria, Petie Hamm, Jr. of Browning, J. C. Hamm of Bluff City, Dale Hamm of Bath, Virgil Hamm of Wee-Ma-Tuk Hills and Marshall Hamm of Bartonville; two daughters, Mrs. Fred (Wanda) Miller of Astoria and Mrs. Heinie (Glenna) Hursh of Havana; 23 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and 25 great, great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister and one great-grandchild.

She was a member of the Bluff City Community Church.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone officiating. Burial was in the Sheldons Grove Cemetery.
