Edmond Curless Dies Monday

Edmond Curless, a well known Astoria resident died Monday afternoon at the hospital in Beardstown, following an illness of a long duration, aged 77 years, 7 months and 16 days.

Mr. Curless was born near Bluff City, June 5, 1868, the son of Lafayette and Armintha McDaniel Curless. He was united in marriage to Nora Fisher in 1886. To them were born five children: Hugh and Harley of Astoria, Hart of Rushville, Mrs. Pearl Lind of Carbon Cliff, Ill., and Mrs. Mae Hamm of Bluff City. Besides the children, he is survived by 25 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, also one brother, Thadus Curless of Macomb.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:00 o’clock at the United Brethren church, conducted by Rev. Fred Thompson, assisted by Dr. C. W. Perkins. Interment will be made in the Bluff City cemetery. The casket will be opened at the cemetery.
