VIRGIL D. HAMM

Virgil D. Hamm, 77, of Peoria, died at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, 1998, at Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy.

He was born March 27, 1921, in Browning, a son of Peter A. Sr. and May Curless Hamm. He married Rosalie Janssen. She died Dec. 5, 1991, in Peoria. Three brothers also preceded him in death.

Surviving are one son, Allen Sr. of Peoria; two sisters, Wanda Miller of Astoria and Glenna Hurst of Havana; two brothers, Pete Jr. of Browning and Dale of Bath; and two grandchildren.

He was a World War II Army veteran. A member of Carpenters Local 183 in Peoria, he was a carpenter for the state of Illinois, retiring in 1983.

Services were held Tuesday at Davison-Fulton-Bartonville Chapel. Burial was in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
