NELLIE B. (SAMUELL) GILSON

Mrs. John Gilson Died Suddenly Wednesday Night

Mrs. John Gilson died suddenly Thursday morning of heart trouble at her home in the north part of town, aged about 49 years. The lady, we understand, had been subject to heart trouble. An inquest was held Thursday morning by Coroner Lambert. Death was due to heart trouble.

Nellie B. Samuel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Samuel, was born at Belvidere, Neb., May 30, 1880. At the time of her death, she was aged 48 years, 11 months and [16? hard to read] days.

She was united in marriage to John L. Gilson, October 1, 1900. To this union eight children were born, three dying in infancy. Besides her husband, she leaves to mourn her death, the following children: Mrs. Isla Husted of Astoria, Freeman A., Percy D., Guy L., and Lloyd D., at home. Also her aged mother, Mrs. Sarah Samuells of Summum and three sisters, Mrs. Nancy Baumgartner of Summum, Mrs. Martha Valentine of Rushville, Mrs. Berniece Howe of Lewistown and two brothers, Robert Samuell of Lewistown and William Samuel of Iowa.

She became a Christian in 1923 and sought to be faithful to the end.

Funeral services were held at Summum, Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. John G. Hendy.

[Laura's note: Her maiden name was either Samuel, Samuell or Samuells — all three spellings appear in this obituary. I believe Samuell is the correct spelling, but I could be mistaken.]
