John Gilson, 73, died at his home here on Wednesday of last week, following a paralytic stroke.
Born Sept. 16, 1879, a son of Alexander and Eva (Babcock) Gilson, he was married to Nellie Samuels, who preceded him in death 24 years ago.
Surviving are three children, Mrs. Ila Husted, Carthage, Guy and Percy Gilson, Astoria; two brothers, Fenton, in Peoria, and Fay, of Astoria, and two sisters, Mrs. Della Atwater, Ipava, and Mrs. Edna Vaughn, Lincoln; one half-brother, Earl Smith, Perry, Iowa, and one half-sister, Mrs. Ethel Webb, Lewistown.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Christian church in Summum, conducted by Rev. Fred Thompson. Burial in Summum cemetery.
