NANCY (SAMUELL) BAUMGARTNER

Summum Woman, 91, Dies Friday

Mrs. Nancy Baumgartner, 91, of Summum, died Friday, July 21, 1978, at Beardstown Hospital.

Mrs. Baumgartner was born March 19, 1887 in Nebraska, the daughter of Andrew and Sarah Cousins Samuels. She married Guy M. Baumgartner Dec. 24, 1911 at Summum, who preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Summum Christian Church. She was an employee of John’s General Store in Summum for many years prior to retirement.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Bernard (Jean) Clark of Beardstown, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the Summum Christian Church with Rev. Larry Manship officiating. Burial was in the Summum Cemetery.

[Laura's note: based on my research her maiden name may actually have been spelled "Samuell", so that is how I am listing them; but I may be mistaken. I will update these records if I find that to be the case.]
