VeteranBernard A. Clark Dies In Beardstown

Bernard A. Clark, 55, 712 Adams St., Beardstown, died at Beardstown Hospital Friday afternoon, Aug. 1, 1980.

Clark had been employed as a meatcutter for Krogers for 20 years and later for Beardstown Superway for almost 20 years.

He was born at Abingdon on July 2, 1925, the son of Allen and Avis Thorn Clark. He married Imogene (Jean) Baumgartner of Summum on Nov. 2, 1947 at Canton. She survives.

He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Beardstown and Beardstown American Legion Post.

Survivors include two sons, Terry Clark of Cicero, and Chris Clark of Beardstown; one daughter, Mrs. Pamela Spurlock of Decatur; two granddaughters, Miss Katy and Miss Kahla Clark of Beardstown; two brothers, Lewis Clark of Springfield, and Lee Clark of Peoria; one sister, Miss Louise Clark of Canton; and one aunt, Elsie Thorn of Canton. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one son, in infancy and his parents.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Cline Funeral Home in Beardstown with Rev. Glenn Anderson officiating. Burial was in Bushnell Cemetery at Bushnell.
