Ernest Easley Of Summum Dies

Ernest Easley, 72, of Summum, died at 9:55 a.m. Monday, Jan. 8, 1979, at Graham Hospital, Canton.

He was a retired carpenter and coal miner.

He was born Jan. 19, 1906, near Astoria, a son of Joseph and Dollie Trone Easley. He married Frances Scrogum May 7, 1927, at Lewistown. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Virginia Schisler of Walnut; one brother, Carl of Camp Point; three sisters, Mrs. Geneva Van Antwerp of Yates City, Mrs. Hazel Bankes of Creve Coeur and Mrs. Nina Derry of Morton; and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by one sister.

He was a member of Summum Christian Church.

Funeral services were to be held at 1 p.m. this afternoon at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone officiating. Burial was to be in Summum Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
