She was born Dec. 26, 1919, in Astoria, a daughter of Joseph and Dollie Trone Easley. She married Devere D. Derry on June 30, 1938. in Dubuque, IA. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1982.
She also was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Surviving are one daughter, Melba (and Ben) Grieder of Congerville; one sister, Geneva Van Antwerp of Farmington; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one nephew, Oniley (and Mary) Farwell of Astoria, (who was raised like her brother).
She worked for Morton Pottery for 10 years. Then worked for the Tazwell News, retiring in 1981.
She was a member of Morton Christian Church.
Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Reverend Charles Ferguson officiating. Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery in Astoria.
