Funeral services for Joseph Easley, 82, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. The Rev. Joseph Gift will officiate, and burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Mr. Easley was a lifelong resident of the Astoria area before moving to Creve Coeur two weeks ago. He died early Monday at his residence after several months of failing health.
He was born Oct. 8, 1880 in Kansas to Stephen and Amanda Parks Easley. On May 14, 1902, he married Dollie Trone, who survives with three daughters, Mrs. Geneva Van Antwerp of Yates City, Mrs. Hazel Banks of Creve Coeur and Mrs. Nina Derry of Morton; two sons, Ernest Easley of Summum and Carl Easley of Peoria; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Andrew Easley of Vermont. A daughter is deceased.
