Bobby BlickenstaffRobert “Bobby” Eugene Blickenstaff, 56, of Astoria died at 10:20 a.m. Aug. 23, 2022, at his home.

He was born Dec. 15, 1965, to Elma Darlene Cassel and Robert “Bob” Blickenstaff. He was raised by his parents Gary and Darlene Baker. He married Angela Horner on March 20, 1987. She survives.

Also surviving are his parents, Gary and Darlene Baker of Rushville; one daughter, Aubri Ann (and Blake) Scheland of Havana; one son, Mason Robert (and Tristan) Blickenstaff of Astoria; four brothers, Marty (and Ellen) Clemens of Pleasant Plains, Jimmy Blickenstaff of Blandinsville, Chris (and Donna) Blickenstaff of Troy and John (and Beth) Baker of Browning; one sister, Lori (and Kent) Walters of Fuquay-Varina, N.C.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bob Blickenstaff; stepmother, Gladys Blickenstaff; mother-in-law, Sandra Yocum; grandparents, Vi and Jim Quesinberry, Sam and Bettie Cassel, Herb and Verna Blickenstaff and Dick and Florence Baker.

He was a 1984 graduate of Astoria High School.

He first worked at Bollinger Welding and later L & N Industries. He was the manager at Bollinger and Onken’s Inc., later becoming Onken’s Inc. He most recently was manager at Curless Flying Services. One of the highlights of his life was getting to be a part of the Holy Pursuit Dream Foundation.

He was a member of Summum Christian Church, where he served as Deacon and Elder, Bader Christian Church, Astoria Lions Club and the West Central Officials Association, where he served as Vice President. He served on the Board of Directors for Mid-Century Telephone Co-op. For over 20 years, he was a licensed IHSA and IESA Official. He officiated several IESA State Basketball Championships. He also served on the Astoria School Board from 2007-15, where he was vice president for three of those years.

Visitation will be held from 4-9 p.m. Friday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Summum Christian Church with Pastor Darrin Fish and Pastor Steve Castaneda officiating. Burial will be in the Summum Cemetery.
