Robert E. Blickenstaff, 58, of Astoria died at 4:34 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
He was born July 8, 1943, in Rock Island, a son of Herbert and Verna Farwell Blickenstaff. He married Gladys Clemens on Jan. 31, 1969, in Rushville. She survives.
Also surviving are his parents of Browning; four sons, Marty (and Ellen) Clemens of Pleasant Plains, Bobby (and Angela) Blickenstaff of Astoria, Jimmy Blickenstaff of Texas and Chris (and Donna) Blickenstaff of Swansea; two nephews, Scott (and Sherri) Clemens and Brandon Alford, both of Astoria; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Herbert (and Eileen) Blickenstaff Jr. and David (and Marilyn) Blickenstaff, both of Browning; and two sisters, Patricia (and Charles) Huston of Macomb and Carol (and Dale) Cassel of Pekin.
He was a truck driver, currently employed at Astoria Ready Mix.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Scott Neal officiating. Visitation will be this evening from 6-8 p.m. at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Burial will be in Astoria Cemetery.
