Gladys Blickenstaff

Gladys E. Blickenstaff, 57, of Astoria died at 12:22 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2005, at her home.

She was born Sept. 19, 1947, in Rushville, a daughter of Earl Arthur "Red" and Muriel "Cookie" Merry Clemens. She married Robert Eugene Blickenstaff on Jan. 31, 1969, in Rushville. He died Dec. 17, 2001.

She also was preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving are three sons, Marty (and Ellen) Clemens of Pleasant Plains, Jimmy (and Tracy) Blickenstaff of Browning and Chris (and Donna) Blickenstaff of Swansea; one stepson, Bobby (and Angela) Blickenstaff of Astoria; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Clemens of Browning and Robin (and Rusty) Popplewell of Astoria; and two brothers, Lee Clemens of Astoria and Tim (and Donna) Clemens of Vermont.

She was a cook at Astoria Gardens and then worked in the dietary department at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville, retiring in 2003.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Robert Spencer officiating. Burial will be in Astoria Cemetery.
