FLORENCE M. (GUST) BAKER

Florence Baker

Florence M. Baker, 86, of Astoria died at 4 a.m. Jan. 31, 2008, at Astoria Gardens & Rehab Center.

She was born March 25, 1921, in Kansas City, Mo., a daughter of Samuel Henry and Donna Ann Curry Gust. She married Richard Baker on Oct. 19, 1939, in Kahoka, Mo. He died Nov. 23, 2003.

She also was preceded in death by one brother, Arthur B. Gust; and one sister, Anna Mae Phillips.

Surviving are one son, Gary (and Darlene) Baker of Rushville; one daughter, Carol (and Phillip) Curless of Cuba, one stepbrother, Charles L. Smith of Springfield; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Bader Christian Church.

Services were held Sunday with Robert Spencer officiating. Burial was in Bader Cemetery in Browning. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
