Fern Workman, 92, of Havana Healthcare Center in Havana, formerly of Astoria, died at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at Havana Healthcare Center.
She was born May 28, 1908, in Astoria, the daughter of Fay and Della Slaight Gilson. She married Kenneth Workman. He died Aug. 4, 1965.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Willis Gilson.
Surviving are one son, Robert (and Deloras) Workman of Beardstown; one daughter, Barbara (and Robert) Hopping of Browning; one stepdaughter, Shirley (and W.D.) Corum of Peoria; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker.
Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Astoria Cemetery with Collis Trone officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.
