Mrs. Della Gilson, 81, died Monday, Dec. 29, at Culbertson Hospital in Rushville following a lengthy illness.
A lifetime resident of the Astoria area, she was born Oct. 29, 1888 in Astoria, the daughter of John and Dora Thompson Slaight. On Nov. 29, 1906 she was married to Fay Gilson. He preceded her in death on July 16, 1967.
She is survived by one son, Willis Gilson of Peoria; one daughter, Mrs. Fern Workman of Havana; one sister, Mrs. Hettie Bushnell of Astoria; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great, great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Fines Main officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
