Barbara J. Hopping, 78, of Bastrop, Texas, formerly of Havana, died at 5:17 a.m. Feb. 25, 2011, at Texas Neuro Rehab Center in Austin, Texas.
She was born May 26, 1932, in Astoria, a daughter of Kenneth and Ferne Gilson Workman. She married Robert L. Hopping on Oct. 29, 1949, in Havana. He preceded her in death on May 26, 2003.
Surviving are three daughters, Connie (and Brian) Whitacre of Emery, S.D., Cathie (and Jerry) Toland of Bryan, Texas, and Cindy (and Kenneth) Keil of Bastrop, Texas; one son, Robert (and Michelle) Hopping of Mansfield, Mo.; one sister, Shirley (and Will) Corum of Peoria; one brother, Robert (and Delores) Workman of Beardstown; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and also worked at Astoria Fibra-Steel.
She was a member of Havana Church of Christ.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Warren Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City Cemetery in Browning.
