She married John Kinkead in 1969. They had three children, Scott (and Tammy) Kinkead of Summum, Michelle (and John) Stern of Rockford and Stephanie (and Larry) Surratt of Merriam Woods, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Barbara Hopping; and one grandson, David Kinkead.
Surviving are her siblings, Connie Whitacre, Cindy Keil and Chris Hopping; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was a fan of the Texas A and M Aggies college football team. She fought Type 1 diabetes for many years.
Per Cathie’s wishes, there will be no memorial service. Cremation rites have been accorded.
