Former Astorian Dies Suddenly In Galesburg

George Wherley, 58, of Galesburg, a former Astoria resident, died suddenly Thursday afternoon. He was employed as city electrician.

Born April 19, 1898, in Astoria, Mr. Wherley had lived in Galesburg 30 years. He was married to Gladys M. Ring in Burlington, Iowa, Oct. 5, 1918.

Surviving are his wife and four children, Ronald of Abingdon, Mrs. John Dixon of Galesburg, Mrs. James Howard of Roseville and Mrs. Howard Peterson of Los Angeles. He also leaves six brothers, John of Canton, Arthur of Cuba, Joe of Table Grove, Pius of Vermont, and Ralph and Homer of California.

Funeral services were held Saturday. Burial was in the Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
