VeteranHarold G. Vaughn Of Lewistown Dies

Harold G. Vaughn, 70, of Lewistown, died at 6:55 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, 1990, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born Feb. 4, 1919, in Lewistown, a son of Harvey and Mary Kruzan Vaughn. He married Frances Arnett at Ipava on May 8, 1946. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Michael G. Vaughn of Ipava; one daughter, Mrs. Lon (Judith A.) VanMiddlesworth of Canton; four grandchildren; four brothers, Russell of Macomb, Maurice of Lewistown, Harvey Jr. of Brereton and Charles of Farmington; and four sisters, Mildred Thrasher, Ruth Barclay, Louise Burgess and Wilma Baker, all of Lewistown.

An Army veteran of World War II, he was a heavy equipment operator at the Duck Island Sand and Gravel pit in rural Canton until retiring in 1968. He was a member of VFW Post 5001 of Lewistown.

Graveside services were held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Oak Hill Cemetery with Rev. Mark Kaley officiating.
