Charles VaughnCharles H. Vaughn, 81, of Farmington died at 12:15 a.m. March 29, 2014, at his home.

He was born Aug. 9, 1932, in Pleasant Township, Fulton County, a son of Harvey and Mary Kruzan Vaughn. He married Martha Parkinson on July 17, 1966, in Lewistown. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Tina (and Bob) Shumaker of Heyworth and Teresa (and Shawn) Lane of Cuba; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters.

He worked for Mid-State Coal Company for 26 years at Rapatee Mine retiring in 1995.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and had tours of duty in Naples, Athens and Turkey.

He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Farmington Lodge, UMWA, International Union of Operating Engineers Local 649 and a 50-year member of Farmington American Legion.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Reverend Kenny Bloyd officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown where military services will be conducted.

Memorials may be made to Farmington Rescue Squad or Clayberg Nursing Home activity fund.
