MILDRED B. (VAUGHN) THRASHER

Mildred Thrasher

Mildred B. Thrasher, 85, of Lewistown died at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born Aug. 7, 1915, in Pleasant Township, Fulton County, a daughter of Harvey and Mary Kruzan Vaughn. She married Dale Thrasher on Feb. 26, 1935, in Havana. He died May 29, 1976.

She also was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.

Surviving are one son, James of Lewistown; one daughter, Patsy (and Floyd) Ginger of Lewistown; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; three sisters, Louise Burgess of Ipava, Wilma Baker of Little America and Ruth Barclay of Lewistown; and three brothers, Maurice "Sonny" Vaughn of Lewistown, Junior Harvey (and Virginia) Vaughn of Brereton and Charles (and Martha) Vaughn of Farmington.

She worked as a cook at Lewistown High School for 16 years before retiring in 1976.

She was a member of Rebekah Lodge 566 of Lewistown for more than 50 years.
She attended Mount Pleasant Methodist Church.

Graveside services were held Saturday at Providence Cemetery with Rev. Jon Sims officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava was in charge of arrangements.
