Harvey "Junior" Vaughn, 77, of Brereton died at 1:20 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2004, at Heartland Health Care Center in Canton.

He was born March 12, 1927, in Ipava, a son of Harvey and Mary Kruzan Vaughn. He married Gladys Irene Harper on Nov. 18, 1950.

He later married Virginia Spahn on Oct. 29, 1982, in Kahoka, Mo. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Danny (and Alison) of Midway, Ark.; four daughters, Janet (and Rick) Whitney of Lewistown, Vickie (and Randy) Towery, Valerie Nebergall, and Debra (and Terry) Watson, all of Canton; four stepsons, Robert (and LaQuita) Spahn of New Carlisle, Ohio, Joseph (and Tede) Spahn of Cary, N.C., George (and Vicki) Spahn of Brereton, and John (and Judy) Spahn of Canton; one stepdaughter, Martha (and Richard) Reiter of Washington; two brothers, Charles (and Martha) of Farmington and Maurice "Sonny" of Lewistown; one sister, Louise Burgess of Ipava; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; 14 stepgrandchildren; and 21 stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers; four sisters; and one stepgrandson.

He worked at Duck Island Gravel Pit from 1953 until 1965. He later worked at International Harvester Canton Works from 1965 until 1982. He was a maintenance man for the Canton Health Department from 1982 until 1989.

A Korean War Army veteran, he served with the 35th Infantry in Japan. He also was in the Army Reserves for many years.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Canton.

Services were held Monday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Rev. Gary Kruzan officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown.
