Summum Woman Found Dead In Her Home

Mrs. Ina Scrogum, 67, of Summum, was found dead on the floor of her home at about 4 o’clock Monday afternoon by her husband. It was thought she had been dead for about two hours, and that a stroke was the cause of her death.

She was born June 15, 1884 near Summum, a daughter of Milton and Rachael Smith Carter. She married Andrew Scrogum Feb. 27, 1907.

Surviving with the husband are one son and four daughters: Keith Scrogum of Canton; Mrs. Irma Mallery of Hanna City; Mrs. Ada Pearce of Lawndale, Calif.; Mrs. Ruth Sterling of Havana, and Mrs. Wilma Walker of Canton; also seven grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Parr of Astoria; Mrs. Mable Smith of Summum; Mrs. Helen Mummert, Canton, and Mrs. Mildred McMullen of Moline.

The family moved from Canton to Summum a year ago last March.

Funeral services will be held from the Christian church in Summum, Friday at 2:00 p.m., conducted by the pastor, Rev. James Boyer. Burial in Summum cemetery.

Friends may call at the Shawgo Memorial home until the hour of the service.
