Mrs. Ida Senger Dies Wednesday Funeral Friday

Ida B. Senger, aged 75, passed away early Wednesday morning at the home of her son, Cyrus Senger in Fort Wayne, Ind., following a year’s illness, during the time she had three strokes, last one Christmas night.

Mrs. Senger was born Aug. 20, 1875 in Lebanon County, Pa., daughter of Cyrus and Leah Gibble Bucher. She came to Illinois with her parents at the age of six years. She was married to S. J. C. Senger on March 23, 1897. He preceded her in death Nov. 21, 1938.

Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Leah Zunkle, Oak Park; Cyrus Senger, Fort Wayne, Ind.; Paul Senger, Plymouth; Mrs. Mary Swinger, Salem; Mrs. Rachel Bowen, Bellwood; Mrs. Lois Corn, Mosinee, Wis.; John Senger, Astoria; Mrs. Ruth Corn, Chicago; also 20 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one step-grandson. Sisters are: Mrs. Mary Wickert, Mrs. Anna Blickenstaff, Mrs. Fannie Stambaugh, Mrs. Lizzie Lam, and two brothers, Harvey Bucher and Ezra Bucher, all of Astoria.

As a wife of a minister, she accompanied him on many calls of helpfulness to the sick and needy.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock, from the Woodland Church of the Brethren, where she was an active member, conducted by Rev. Harold Deeter and Rev. Homer Kiracofe. Burial at the Woodland cemetery.

Friends may call at the Shawgo Memorial Home until the hour of the service.
