Rachel S. Bowen, 79, of Bellwood, formerly of Astoria, died at 12:01 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 1990, at her home.
She was born Sept. 17, 1901, at Astoria, a daughter of Samuel and Ida Bucher Senger. She was married to Thomas Bowen who preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons, Albert and Robert; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lois Corn of Wausau, Wis., and Ruth Corn of Maywood.
She was also preceded in death by one son, William.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hursen Funeral Home in Hillside. Burial was in the Astoria Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Hillside-Berkeley Presbyterian Church in Hillside.
